I became a
lawyer to help people navigate their way through a court system that is
confusing, time consuming and stressful. Our court system consist of general
magistrates, hearing officers ad judges who are people and despite their best
attempts at being neutral, often unintentionally bring their beliefs,
backgrounds and unconscious biases to the decision making process. My
continuing goal as an attorney is to break through these unconscious biases so
that justice will be more equally applied
to everyone.
Legal services
should be available to everyone, however rising costs of litigation, court fees
and attorney’s billable rates deny access to many economically disadvantaged people.
At some point during someone’s life, they may have to sue someone or are sued
or have a contract dispute that can result in years of litigation and stress
that affects them and their family. My continuing goal is to represent people
in a way that I would want to be
represented, taking in mind the client's needs, goals and objectives and
limitations as well as their need to resolve issues in
the best light possible.
